For many years, my only presence on the internet beyond social media posts was an Adobe Portfolio site. I decided several months ago to close my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription due to the ever increasing costs, software bloat and my simplifying workflow. Among other things, this meant a new web presence would be needed but I kept putting off the inevitable plunge back into hosting and site building. I finally started the process at the beginning of July ’24 and have slowly been trying to get my head wrapped around all the changes that have taken place in the world of WordPress. The new site building tools are undoubtedly simpler than the classic builders I was used to but man does this make me feel old!
Over the course of the next few weeks, I plan to begin uploading both new and older content. Since I have abandoned the Adobe ecosystem, I have a new suite of editing and catalog tools that I have been learning to use. Much of my older content was saved in PSD format which I can still access with new tools but some were edits solely from Lightroom and I have yet to determine how or if I can access the XMP sidecar files (or if it is even worth the effort).
Either way, I am glad to be back with a home on the web of my own and look forward to building out the site over the coming weeks and months.
See around the web!
